Why Do People Do Personal Training?

Why do Personal Training? In this blog, Coach Craig discusses the reasons why people choose to do PT and what physical and mental benefits people can get from it!

Why would someone choose Personal Training? The answer is well…..personal.

Fat loss, muscle building, improve health, boost the immune system, move, look, and feel better are often first port of calls. Many of these reasons are what people will give me when they initially start a personal training block but the real reasons why... can be much more personal.

When we chat further the initial reasons for reaching out can be very specific to them and incredibly important as a coach in helping frame our time together.

Why do people do Personal Training?-3

“I don’t like the way I looked in a photo next to my sister, I have neglected myself with work and the demands of being a mother and I want to reclaim my confidence in how I feel in my body”.

“I want to feel confident in my body and strong because I have a kid on the way.”

“My knee and my back have been at me for ages and it’s holding me back I need to get it looked at so I can run again pain free”

“I’m getting married next year and want to feel my best and be strong and confident in my suit/dress.”

“I want to build muscle and I’d love to get stronger but I’m scared of open gyms and I just don’t know where to start or what I’m doing”

“I used to play lots of sports and I’ve been in and out of different gyms, but I’d just jump from program to program and a few years have passed by and my weight has really crept up on me. I just need to get back into a routine and get someone to hold me accountable. “

“I’m stressed out! Coming to the gym, having a trainer set up everything and being in a fun environment that I want to go to is huge for my mental and physical health”

A huge part of being a personal trainer is having an honest conversation with people. Discovering what your client really wants, identifying what they need and marrying the two together in intelligent programming.

Delivering sessions on a 1:1 basis that are ultimately really enjoyable, makes someone want to come to the gym and is geared towards helping them achieve their goals is always key. Consistent training that is sustainable and gets results through the support and guidance of your coach is at the core of all really good personal training.

From initial consultations, we determine how you move, your goals, your nutritional intake and establish all the baseline data regarding your strength and fitness.. This can be a real eye-opener when your in the gym and going through your first session and truly helps you understand the program when it’s put in place.

This helps us make the most informed decisions to create the best environment to achieve your goals. The real fun part is when we start training and the true rewards are when we start to see sustainable results.
